Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18/06/2026

Who we are

This website is operated by W. Monks (Longridge) Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a building contractor registered in England, company number 702078, with its trading address at Hacking Hobbs Estate, Longridge, Preston, Lancashire, PR3 3EZ.

We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions, contact us at [email address] or on 01772 783328.

What this policy covers

This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have. We only collect personal data from website visitors when you choose to contact us.

The information we collect

When you complete our contact form, we collect:

  • your name,
  • your company name,
  • your email address, and
  • the details of your enquiry that you choose to include.

Our hosting and security providers also process limited technical information (such as your IP address) automatically, to keep the website available and to protect it from abuse. We do not use this information to identify you.

How we use your information, and our lawful basis

We use the information you submit only to respond to your enquiry, to discuss your project, and to keep a record of our correspondence. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interests in responding to business enquiries and, where your enquiry relates to work you may ask us to carry out, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not send newsletters or promotional emails from this form.

Spam protection

Our contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which helps us tell real visitors from automated abuse. Turnstile processes limited technical signals from your browser for this purpose. It is designed to protect privacy and is not used to track you across other websites. Cloudflare acts as our processor for this; see Cloudflare’s own privacy documentation for details.

Analytics

We use a privacy-focused analytics tool [Umami] to understand, in aggregate, how the website is used. It does not set cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track individual visitors across websites.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for marketing. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the website and respond to you, acting on our instructions as our processors. These are our website host [hosting provider], our email provider, and Cloudflare (for form protection).

International transfers

Some of our providers, such as Cloudflare, may process data on servers outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, so that your data remains protected to UK standards.

How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry correspondence for [retention period, e.g. 24 months] after our last contact about it, unless it becomes part of a contract record, after which we keep it for as long as we need it for that contract and for legal and tax purposes. We then delete it securely.

How we protect your information

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your data secure, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls, and we limit access to the people who need it to respond to you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you,
  • ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete,
  • ask us to delete your data,
  • ask us to restrict or object to how we use it, and
  • ask us to transfer it to you or another provider, where that applies.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details above. You will not usually have to pay, and we will respond within one month.

Cookies

This website uses only strictly necessary cookies. See our cookie policy for details.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
